CineNoir: Black Voices in Film
February 27 - March 5, 2026
Robinson Film Center, in partnership with Mahogani Media, proudly presents the 2026 CineNoir: Black Voices in Film series!
For its third year, this annual showcase will close out Black History Month with a celebration of the rich and diverse tapestry of Black culture through visual storytelling. The week-long event will feature a curated selection of inspiring and insightful studio-released and independent features, as well as short films created by Black filmmakers from our region and beyond.
Throughout the state of Louisiana, the direct and indirect influence of black and brown culture can be felt through so many dimensions of life including food, music, dance, literature, and film. The Shreveport-Bossier region is home to a majority African-American population, along with representation from many other corners of the African diaspora, making it the perfect place to celebrate Black Voices in Film! CineNoir will shine a light on the abundance of economic, social, and cultural wealth this diverse group provides to our local communities.
CineNoir is for cinephiles and casual movie-goers alike, from all walks of life, offering meaningful discourse on the art of filmmaking, while showcasing a variety of voices in Black cinema. This series will not only help our community celebrate its creative contributions during Black History Month, but will also further Robinson Film Center’s mission to Educate, Enrich, and Entertain the region through film.
