VERSIFIED: RATED POETRY with Poetic X

Celebrating National Poetry Month and the Art of Poetry 2026, Poetry House For The Arts presents: VERSIFIED: RATED POETRY. Join us at Robinson Film Center for a poetic documentary screening written and narrated by former Caddo Parish Poet Laureate POETIC X and filmed by Clint McCommon of Fairfield Studios. The documentary features poets from Shreveport, LA and examines the poetry movement in America through the work of famous poets past and present with a poetic, in depth detail into the art of poetry. 

VERSIFIED: RATED POETRY is an event dedicated to celebrating literary talent, fostering community engagement, community enrichment, and exploring diverse poetic voices in the arts. Our mission is to provide inspired and aspiring poets, writers, and authors with a platform to achieve their desired goals and to build a poetry and the arts community by expanding the boundaries of creativity and leading the way with education.

Following the documentary, be a part of the New Poetry Initiative: WRITE LOUISIANA!

WRITE LOUISIANA invites poets and writers from all 64 Parishes of Louisiana to submit a poem written exclusively about the State of Louisiana. Participants will be invited to read their Poems following Documentary screening at Robinson Film Center. The screening will take place in Theater 2, RFC’s 45-seat capacity theater followed by a Q&A and poetry reading with POETIC X and guests.
