At the Robinson Film Center Awards, RFC will recognize excellence in the local filmmaking community, from large scale productions to independent films, at the professional and student levels. It’s our way of providing another platform to celebrate our local filmmakers while expanding their audience.
The night will begin with a 6pm cocktail reception followed by the awards ceremony at 7:30pm. Mark your calendar to help us celebrate the accomplishments of our local filmmaking community and its supporters!
General Admission tickets include complimentary beer and wine as well as an elegant buffet of hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour and access to the awards ceremony.
NOMINATIONS
We invite our local filmmakers to submit their work in the categories below. Winners will receive free tickets to the ceremony and be announced live at the 2023-24 Robbys awards ceremony.
NOMINATE A LOCAL FILMMAKER
RFC is now accepting nominations for filmmakers who have worked either on studio or independent productions in any of the following roles: Executive Producer, Director, Producer, Screenwriter, Cinematographer. One award will be presented for each of the following:
2023-2024 Young Filmmaker of the Year
(Must be 17 years old or younger as of September 30, 2024)
2023-2024 Filmmaker of the Year
(Must be 18 years old on or before September 30, 2024)
2023-2024 Special Jury Award
(Must be 18 years old on or before September 30, 2024)
The special jury award is given to a local filmmaker whose body of work represents creative and technical excellence.
Nominations for these awards must be submitted by December 31, 2024.
Please submit nominations via email to robinsonfilmcenter@gmail.com. Nominations must include the filmmaker’s name, current contact information, primary role as a filmmaker, a list of projects they have worked on since May 1, 2023, and a brief summary of their professional strengths along with how they help nurture and grow the local film industry. Nominees must be a resident of one of the following Parishes: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Jackson, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, Webster. A resident is an individual that is domiciled in one of these Parishes, maintains a permanent place of abode in one of these Parishes, or spends more than 6 months of the tax year in one of these Parishes.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee and the filmmakers will be contacted directly for next steps.
SUBMISSION BASED AWARD SECTIONS
2023-2024 Film of the Year (Documentary)
Film must be 41 minutes in length or more, including credits.
2023-2024 Short Film of the Year (Documentary)
Film must be 40 minutes in length or less, including credits.
2023-2024 Film of the Year (Narrative)
Film must be 41 minutes in length or more, including credits.
2023-2024 Short Film of the Year (Narrative)

RULES AND TERMS
Eligibility Requirements
Completion Date
- Eligibility window for films is May 1, 2023-October 14, 2024. Films completed before May 1, 2023, are NOT eligible.
Production and Residency Status
- At least 50% of the film’s production (pre-production, principal photography, post-production) must have taken place in the following Parishes: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Jackson, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, Webster.
- Films must either be written, produced, or directed by a resident of one of the following Parishes: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Jackson, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, Webster. A resident is an individual that is domiciled in one of these Parishes, maintains a permanent place of abode in one of these Parishes, or spends more than 6 months of the tax year in one of these Parishes.
All entries must either be in English or subtitled in English. Dialogue lists are not accepted.
Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry to the Robinson Film Center Awards and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.

Submission Guidelines
Films must be submitted via an online screener hosted by Vimeo or another secure online platform. (It is recommended that films submitted via online screener be available to download).
Only complete entries will be considered.
The programming committee will only consider the version submitted. Subsequent cuts or replacement copies will only be accepted at the request of the awards committee.
Deadlines
Regular deadline entries must be submitted online by Dec 31, 2024.
Judging & Selection
Winning films and filmmakers are selected by an independent judging committee. If a film or filmmaker is selected as a winner, RFC will contact the entrant by phone or email.
RFC does not provide feedback or screening notes to entries that are not selected.
Entry Fees
There are no entry fees for submission.
Submissions
Please email a link to an online screener of the film to robinsonfilmcenter@gmail.com with the following information: Full name of the film, date of completion, producer and director name(s), genre, production locations (parish and cities only), runtime, rating, and a brief description of the film. The awards committee will request additional information as needed.
