The Totally Awesome '80s Movie Marathon continues at RFC through July 23.
A toast to '80s movies
Movie marathons make you thirsty, so Abby Singer's Bistro will be serving up some tasty drinks during the Totally Awesome '80s Movie Marathon July 17-23. Try them all while they last.
Ectoplasm: Who you gonna call? Forget the Ghostbusters, call your friends for drinks. This creamy mint martini will make you forget any paranormal problems.
Banana in the Tailpipe: Axel Foley is tricky, so don't fall for a banana in the tailpipe. Or in this case, do … because it tastes like a Fudgsicle!
Breakfast Club Mimosas: Saturday detention wouldn't be so bad with a few of these.

Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl' opens July 10
We're excited about Me and Earl and the Dying Girl opening at RFC on July 10. The film, based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Jesse Andrews, took home both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Critics' praise matches those honors, but we're most excited about Me and Earl and the Dying Girl because, as cinephiles here at RFC, we see a little bit of ourselves in movie lovers Greg and Earl. And we see their fierce creative passion on a weekly basis during the school year with our Teen Film Council members, who work hard to find their voice and express the importance of art in short films they showcase to the community. The Teen Film Council will host the 7:30 p.m. screening on July 11 with movie-themed prizes (click for tickets to this screening).
This movie is for audiences of all ages — teens and parents alike. Bring a group of four or more to this movie, and get your ticket with a small popcorn for just $10.

Everything is awesome at RFC's Stop Motion Animation Camp
Campers at RFC's Stop Motion Animation Camp are having a great week making movies with Legos with Bricks 4 Kids. They've constructed sets out of Legos and used stop motion to animate each scene (see photos above). Campers will premiere their films to their family and friends on Friday, and we think that's pretty awesome.
Music Video campers 'shake it off'
On June 22, students in grades third through eighth kicked off RFC's first Summer Film Camp, Music Video Camp, in style with a little "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift. The students have had a great week making props, memorizing lines, working on their choreographed dance moves and learning how to use film equipment to make their very own music video. Who you gonna call? The Paranormals.
The Paranormals, the latest film from local filmmaker Evan Falbaum at Moviesauce will have it's "hometown" premiere at RFC on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. (click for tickets), followed by a Q&A with Falbaum and the cast and crew.

Giving to Robinson Film Center is fun. To prove it, we’re rewarding you with ’80s movie weekend VIP access if you’re one of the first members to join or renew by June 30! So what’s happening?
On July 17-19, we’ll screen four movies that defined a decade as part of the Totally Awesome ’80s Movie Marathon Weekend — Ghostbusters, The Breakfast Club, Beverly Hills Cop and Spaceballs, plus join our Friday night trivia dinner, pose in our photo booth and join our Saturday night music video donor party.
So what do you get if you join or renew? It starts with free movie tickets to the weekend (in addition to your regular annual benefits) – and gets better from there.
The important fine print: you will still get all of your annual member benefits in addition to your 80s weekend benefits. You cannot use regular movie passes or Golden Ticket passes to ’80s weekend, but all existing members will get member pricing on tickets and concessions. To be a weekend sponsor, you must renew at $1,000 or more between now and June 30.
We hope you love the ’80s – duh?!?! – and invite you to come party like it’s 1985.
